### Do I need a computer to use it?
No. The MemoryVault Box works on its own, with a built-in 2.4 inch screen. You see every scanned photo immediately. If you later want the files on a computer, the included USB cable transfers them to any PC or Mac.

### How long does one photo take?
About 3 seconds. The image appears on the screen and saves to the SD card automatically. Most people scan 50 to 100 slides in an hour, usually at the kitchen table.

### Will it work with very old or faded film?
Yes. Backlight compensation and automatic color correction are designed for aged film. Slides from the 1970s and 80s that look dark or yellowed usually come back with their color, which is often the most surprising part.

### Which film formats does it accept?
35mm negatives and mounted slides, in color or black and white. The holders for both formats are included in every kit.

### How do I share the photos with my family?
Scans are standard JPEG files on an SD card. Text them, email them, post them, or print them. They work with every phone, computer, and photo service.

### Do I need to buy anything else?
No. The kit includes the scanner, the film and slide holders, USB and TV cables, a cleaning brush, and the manual. The device has 128MB of internal memory for about 25 photos; for a large collection, choose the bundle with the 16GB SD card, which holds about 5,000 scans.

### What resolution are the scans?
JPEG files at 2592 x 1944 pixels from a 5 megapixel sensor, around 2 to 3MB per photo. That is enough to print at standard sizes and to view full screen on a TV.

### Is it compatible with both PC and Mac?
Yes. The files are standard JPEGs on an SD card. Plug in the USB cable, select USB mode on the device, and it appears on the computer like a USB drive. No software to install.

### How big is the device?
86mm wide, 86mm deep, 102mm tall, about 580g. It fits on a bookshelf and travels to a relative's house in a coat pocket.
